Are you thinking about buying a boat pontoon for a holiday home, marina or private waterfront? Or do you want to test your first ideas before asking for a detailed quote?
The Top Marine web app helps you create an initial pontoon layout online. You can choose a pontoon type, add suitable modules and accessories, see an indicative price and send your project to Top Marine for review.
The tool works as a simple online pontoon planning app. It is especially useful when you want to understand what kind of floating pontoon solution could fit your location before moving on to the final technical design.
You can open the app here: Top Marine web app
For your reference: the web app is in English and works best on a desktop or laptop browser.
Top Marine web app user guide
The app is simple to use, but this guide shows the main steps so you know what to expect before you start.
Step 1: Open the app and choose the project country
When you open the app, you will first see the front page with the menu, product selection and login option.

- Menu
- Product selection
- Login – this is for Top Marine resellers. As a regular user, you can close it and continue.
Before choosing a pontoon type, first select the correct country from the menu at the top left. This is important because the app uses the selected country to calculate the correct VAT rate.
Please choose the country before you select a product. After you have selected the pontoon type and entered the design workspace, you cannot change the country anymore.
In this example, we select Sweden as the project country.

Step 2: Choose the pontoon type
After choosing the country, click on the image of the pontoon type that best matches your project. The app will then take you to the design workspace.

If you are not sure which pontoon type to choose, it is worth reading these guides first:
- Which floating pontoon should you choose?
- How to choose a pontoon – 3 important things to consider
- The location of the floating pontoon – 5 factors to consider in nature
- How to order a floating pontoon
For private boat mooring and lighter sheltered-water projects, boat pontoons with plastic floats may be suitable. For bathing areas, you can also look at swimming pontoons and the Swimming Pontoon ECO.
For larger marina projects, commercial use or more demanding locations, heavy duty pontoons or timber pontoons with concrete floats may be a better starting point.
Step 3: Use the workspace and create your pontoon layout
In the front view of the workspace, you will see the product menu, the total price and the zoom buttons.

The main parts of the view are:
- Product menu – scroll down to see the products that fit your chosen pontoon model.
- Total price – shows the indicative cost of the selected products.
- Zoom buttons – use plus and minus to zoom in or out.
The white area represents the water, and the green area represents the shore.
To start, zoom out if needed and drag the selected pontoon module into the water area. Place it at a suitable distance from the shore.

If you want to remove a selected product, simply drag it back to the product menu.

You can then continue building the layout by adding more modules, a gangway, an abutment, decking or other suitable parts.

For example, you may want to add a gangway, mooring equipment, ladders or other pontoon accessories depending on how the pontoon will be used.
All products can be rotated 360 degrees. This makes it possible to test different layouts, such as a straight pontoon, L-shaped pontoon or T-shaped pontoon.
Step 4: Check whether the elements are correctly positioned
When you click on a product, a red or green frame appears around it. The frame helps you understand whether the element is positioned correctly in the layout.
A green frame means the element is connected or aligned correctly. A red frame means the element may not work well in that position.
For example, a mooring ring placed in the middle of the pontoon may stay red because it would not be practical for mooring a boat. When you move it to the edge, the frame can turn green.
A single product may also show a red frame. This does not always mean that something is wrong.
You do not need to make the layout perfect. After you send the request, a Top Marine specialist will review the project and make the necessary adjustments.

Step 5: Check the details and send your request
When you are happy with your initial pontoon layout, open the project details view from the three-dot menu on the left side of the screen.

You do not need to use the “Add custom component” button or the “Transport” and “Installation” fields. These are mainly intended for resellers when preparing quotes.

As a regular user, fill in the contact fields at the bottom of the view.
Use the “Comment” field to add anything important about the location or intended use of the pontoon. For example, you can mention:
- water depth
- shoreline conditions
- expected boat size
- intended use of the pontoon
- possible wave or ice conditions
- preferred pontoon size or layout
- whether you also need anchoring or other accessories

If you are planning a marina or a more demanding pontoon project, it is also useful to read our article about water depth measurement.
When everything is ready, click “Send us your query” to send the request.
When the query has been sent, a confirmation message will appear in your browser.

What happens after you send the request?
After you submit the project, Top Marine receives your drawing and contact details. You will also receive the drawing as a PDF by email.
A Top Marine specialist will review your layout and contact you for more information if needed. The final pontoon solution may be adjusted according to the actual site conditions, intended use, anchoring method and technical requirements.
The web app does not replace engineering review. Instead, it works like lightweight pontoon design software for the early planning stage. It helps you test ideas, understand the approximate layout and start the quote process more easily.
