Boat pontoons with plastic floats are modular floating pontoons for sheltered marinas, boat harbours and inland waterways. They support small boat mooring and work well with boat booms, mooring buoys or mooring rings.
In addition, they can serve as platforms for private floating saunas and other suitable floating platform projects, depending on the site and intended use.
Boat pontoons for sheltered marinas and inland waterways
Using standard modules, you can create a boat pontoon with the right length, shape and load capacity for your site. Existing pontoons can also be extended later in length or width.
Boat pontoons with plastic floats are well suited for private floating sauna platforms, especially in sheltered inland waters. The final pontoon size and anchoring solution should be selected according to the sauna size, weight, water depth and local conditions.
You can plan different pontoon layouts in our web application and see the estimated cost of the project. The user manual is available here.
If you work in marina design, harbour engineering or architecture, you can download boat pontoon models and other Top Marine product models from the ProdLib catalogue. The user manual is available here.
Planning boat pontoons with plastic floats
Boat pontoons with plastic floats come in three standard widths: 2 m, 2.4 m and 3 m. The standard lengths are 6 m, 8 m and 10 m.
You can install the boat pontoon perpendicular or parallel to the shore. Depending on the site, we can anchor it with concrete anchors and mooring chains, piles or diagonal braces.

Plastic pontoons vs pontoons with plastic floats
Modular plastic pontoons are usually made from plastic cubes that are connected to each other. They are lightweight and can be suitable for simple floating platforms or temporary use.
Top Marine boat pontoons with plastic floats have a stronger load-bearing structure. The frame is made of pressure-impregnated softwood, and the profiled decking helps reduce slipping. In addition, we use strength-graded and finger-jointed timber, which helps ensure high quality and durability.
Hot-dip galvanising protects the metal parts against corrosion and other environmental impacts.
Durable plastic pontoon floats and accessories
We manufacture the plastic pontoon floats using rotational moulding and fill them with EPS foam. This makes them resistant to UV radiation, ice and impacts from stones and rocks.
We offer a wide range of accessories, including side decking, swimming ladders, railings, fenders, mooring rings, lighting posts and lifebuoy sets.
In addition, premium timber decking and LED-lit bollards are available for projects where a more exclusive look is required. For more ideas, read the article Accessories to make your pontoon feel homey – 6 products to consider installing.
Maintenance of boat pontoons
Although boat pontoons require little maintenance, we recommend checking and cleaning the pontoon before the new season in spring and after the end of the boating season in autumn.
To ensure a long service life, we recommend the following steps:
- wash the decking with a pressure washer or brush;
- treat the decking once a year with a wood preservative that protects against UV radiation;
- regularly check the condition of fasteners and hinge connections;
- remove the ladder from the pontoon in autumn to avoid ice damage.
