Top Marine designs and manufactures floating pontoon solutions for marinas, sheltered boat harbours, bathing areas, floating platforms and other marine projects.
Our pontoon systems are suitable for many different locations, from protected inland waterways to demanding harbour environments. The right solution depends on the site conditions, water depth, wave exposure, intended use and required load capacity.
Which type of floating pontoon should you choose?
The best pontoon type depends on how and where it will be used.
For demanding marina and harbour projects, a stable heavy-duty pontoon may be the right choice. For a natural-looking and durable solution, you can choose a timber pontoon with concrete floats. For smaller boats and sheltered waters, a boat pontoon with plastic floats can be a practical option.
We also produce comfortable swimming pontoons for bathing areas and pontoon structures for special projects, including floating houses.

What is a pontoon?
A pontoon is a floating structure that provides buoyancy and support for a deck, walkway, platform, marina berth or other marine structure. Unlike a fixed pier, a floating pontoon rises and falls with the water level, making access easier in locations where water levels change.
Floating pontoons are commonly used in marinas, boat harbours, bathing areas, floating platforms, service pontoons and temporary marine structures.
What is the difference between a jetty and a pontoon?
A jetty is usually a fixed structure built on piles or other permanent supports. It extends from the shore into the water and normally stays at a fixed height.
A pontoon is a floating platform. It moves with changes in water level and can be used as a floating jetty, marina pontoon, swimming pontoon or working platform. Choosing between a fixed jetty and a floating pontoon depends on the location, water depth, wave conditions, ice conditions and intended use.
Key factors to consider when choosing a floating pontoon
It is easier to choose the right floating pontoon solution if you can answer a few important questions:
- What will the pontoon mainly be used for — boat mooring, swimming, marina access, floating platforms or service work?
- Is the location a sheltered inland waterway, a marina, a harbour or a more exposed shoreline?
- What load capacity is required?
- What wave height and water level changes should the pontoon withstand?
- How long and wide should the pontoon be?
- What freeboard height is suitable for the boats using the pontoon?
- Should the pontoon be installed parallel or perpendicular to the shore?
- What kind of anchoring, gangways and safety equipment are needed?
You can compare the technical details, prices, maintenance requirements, accessories, installation and anchoring options on each product page.
