Swimming pontoons

Introduction

Swimming pontoons are modular floating pontoons for beaches, private shorelines, sheltered inland waters and small floating platforms. They can also be used as small boat pontoons, depending on the boat size and local conditions.

Modular swimming pontoons for beaches and inland waters

Using standard modules, you can create a swimming pontoon with the right size, shape and load capacity for your location. For example, you can use the same modules for a public bathing area, a private swimming pontoon or a small boat pontoon.

When planning a swimming pontoon, we recommend reading these useful articles:

Swimming pontoons are available in three standard widths: 2 m, 2.4 m and 3 m. The standard lengths are 4 m, 5 m and 6 m.

You can install swimming pontoons perpendicular or parallel to the shore. A single-module pontoon may only require proper shore-side support, depending on the location. However, pontoons consisting of several modules should always be anchored.

Anchoring can be carried out with concrete anchors and mooring chains, piles or diagonal braces. For this reason, we recommend leaving the anchoring to us, as we have the special equipment required to install heavy anchors safely.

You can plan the size and layout of the swimming pontoon in our web application. You can also see the estimated cost of the project. The user manual is available here.

If you are an engineer or architect, you can download Top Marine product models and sample marina solutions from the ProdLib catalogue. You can find the user manual here.

The strong load-bearing structure uses pressure-impregnated softwood. The profiled decking helps reduce slipping. In addition, we use strength-graded and finger-jointed timber, which helps ensure high quality and durability.

Hot-dip galvanising protects the metal parts against corrosion and other environmental impacts.

The 220 L hollow plastic floats are lightweight and easy to transport. We manufacture them using rotational moulding technology, which makes them resistant to UV radiation, freezing conditions and impact from stones and rocks.

The floats are compact and have a low draft. Therefore, they are suitable for waterways with fluctuating water levels and soft or swampy shorelines. This also makes them suitable for special projects, such as sailing school ramps and rowing channels.

We offer a wide range of accessories, including side decking, swimming ladders, railings, fenders, mooring rings and lifebuoy sets.

In addition, premium timber decking and LED-lit bollards are available for projects where a more exclusive look is required. For more ideas, read the article Accessories to make your pontoon feel homey – 6 products to consider installing.

Maintenance of swimming pontoons

Although swimming pontoons require little maintenance, we recommend the following steps to ensure a long service life:

  • wash the decking in spring and autumn with a pressure washer or brush;
  • treat the decking once a season with a wood preservative that offers UV protection;
  • regularly check the condition of fasteners and hinge connections;
  • remove the ladder from the pontoon in autumn to avoid ice damage.
